For my representation video. I have planned to do short about women of color on the catwalk. My video will include vox-pops. I plan to find out what people of all races think about the fashion industry selectivity when it comes to picking models for the catwalks.
The fashion industry is very selective when it comes to advertising and promotion. In recent years we have started to se more people on the catwalk in terms of race, ethnicity, disability and age. Despite this most of the models we see on popular catwalks are caucasian. Models and supermodels are portrayed as some of the most beautiful women on the earth so what is this saying. Most beautiful women are white? Most beautiful women are tall, young and skinny? Over the last few years we have started to see a difference the colors of models on the runways. But how much has it changed. Out of a normal show with thirty models of three will be black and five Chinese. The majority will be white. At the end of of the day is it just white females buying clothing?
Buy magazines and compare the white models to other races of females.
Do a stop motion of the two piles, one just caucasian females, the other pile of any other race of females.
Over the top have a voiceover.
-These are some popular magazines(name the magazines) with all different brands. On my left we will have a pile of caucasian female models and on my right we will have a pile of models of other races.

Do a vox pop at London College of Fashion asking them what they think about the development of diversity amongst models.
Questions:
What do you think about the development of diversity amongst models in the fashion industry?
Do you think that Fashion Brands include a range of models from different backgrounds?
Do you think that we are beginning to see more women of different background on the runway? This year their were only 25% women of color/non Caucasian on the autumn runways in London. What do you think about that?
Do you think that if you saw a brand showing more black girls at one of its fashion shows that you would be more likely to buy it?
How do you feel about their being a lack of models from different backgrounds at popular brands fashion shows?
Who do you think is to blame for the lack of diversity at fashion shows?
Do you think that more fashion brands are using a diverse amount of models to advertise their clothing?
Would you like to see more models from different races being shown in the fashion industry?
I will add footage from runway shows and advertisment campaigns
