Breathless teaser trailer Betrayal

I chose to do a teaser trailer remake of breathless because I think that it is quiet interesting to see how the film and footage can be adapted to suit a different and more current audience. It also allows me to add a new plot twist and show a different type of betrayal other than the classic romance of boyfriend/girlfriend.

I will change the use of character a lot from the original. The teaser trailer will have a girl as the protagonist and there will be one scene where the audience will see the lips of the man she is talking to on the opposite side of the screen. I decided to do this because it build tension and is more sinister because the audience does not know very much about her brother only that he is a thief and loves his sister. This also gives the audience two contrasting sides of him but it is still very little to judge him by.

The style of the teaser trailer will be much more commercial and more standard then the original version of A bout de Souffle/breathless. In the teaser trailer there is one scene where there is quiet a long phone call and the audience does not get any information as they can only hear the character mumbling. This follows some of the conventions of the new wave and also builds suspense. There will not be any scenes where more than two people will be shown.

Light will be used to emphasise certain scenes. For exame the scene where she is one the phone to someone from the police department. We can not see any facial caracteristic besides the person lips. I shine light from behind to make the character seem more mysterious and sinister.
